Returning to the SEC, The Hillbilly Goats bring an undeniable passion for Appalachian mountain music, its instruments and its stories. Their mission is to strip back modern layers and transport audiences on a journey that began with the Scots-Irish settlers in America’s Appalachian Mountains. Their high-energy shows feature award-nominated originals alongside traditional songs spanning 1710 to the 1940s, delivered with a quirky edge. Expect banjo, fiddle, bones, double bass, harmonica, three-part harmonies, tap dancing and more as they share the evolution of mountain music into blues, country and bluegrass. These acclaimed performers have lit up stages at major festivals across Australia and internationally, earning a devoted following for their lively, story-filled performances that blend history with vibrant live energy. Accolades include the 2022 Australian Folk Alliance Awards People’s Choice (Folk Band of the Year), the 2020 Golden Fiddle Award, and four Golden Guitar finalist nominations for bluegrass recordings.
